Morgan Co. Ky death register for 1901 lists Garn Lewis, age 44, married, farmer, died 7 Aug 1901, cause of death consumption, born in Morgan Co. The field for parents is blank on his line, but the line above says T. A. and Hermie Lewis, and the decendent’s name on that line is a 2 month old child Kelly Hughes, and the parent field on the line above Kelly’s says Noah & Cyntha Hughes, so apparently several lines have been shifted up, due to three Williams deaths in a row and only two Williams parent lines, presumably because two of the Williams had the same parents.

Note that there was another Gardner Hopkins Lewis just seven weeks younger in Morgan Co., son of Thomas E. Lewis (1821-1864) and Margaret “Peggy” Lewis, plus a Gardner Hopkins Lewis born in 1852, son of Thomas E. Lewis (1823-1898) and Nancy Lewis. So be careful to avoid confusion.

Her death certificate records Ann E. Lewis, age 49, widowed, born 13 Sep 1862 in Morgan Co, died 22 Sep 1911 in Panthers Branch precinct, Morgan Co., Ky, father Wm H. Lewis, mother’s maiden name Nellie Lewis, cause of death Bright’s disease, informant Kelly Lewis, Blaze, Ky, burial in Wm Lewis graveyard.

Gardner and Ann were first cousins once removed.
