His death certificate records Samuel Bussell, age 77, born 27 June 1872 in Ky, occupation tenant farmer, married, died 11 Apr 1950 in Carlisle, Nicholas Co., Ky, address Spring St., Carlisle, Ky, father John Bussell, maiden name of mother Ida Ishmall, cause of death cerebral hemorrhage, informant Allen Bussell, burial in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Carlisle, Ky.
Samuel’s son Allen seems to have entered the name of Samuel’s wife in the mother field. I am not totally sure whether Samuel is the son of John Bussell’s first wife Lydia Cox, or his second wife Mary Catherine “Kate” Bohannon. The 1910 census stated that John and Kate had been married 38 years, which would put their marriage date about 1872.
