There was also a William Sanford Vice in Bath Co. about 5 years younger, son of Nathan Vice and Winnifred Rout, who was listed with his parents in Bath Co. in 1850 as William S. Vice age 14, and in 1860 as Sanford Vice age 23. So be careful not to get them confused.

This is not a complete family group. I am only entering this couple and their census records to show the parents of Lora Vice who married Ruth Ishmael.
Census
1860 census of Fleming Co., Ky, district 1, Elizaville P.O., enumerated 31 July, lists on p. 81 as family #605/546:
Sanford Vice, 27, farmer; Betsey, 20; James, 2; Wm, 5/12. All born in Ky.
Sanford’s mother Nancy and three of his siblings are also in the same district, but 20 pages later.
1870 census of Harrison Co., Ky, Buena Vista district, Scotts Station P.O., enumerated 20 July, lists on p. 32 as family #234/220:
Vise, Sandford, 27; Elisabeth, wife, 25; James H., 12; Wm A., 10; Martha L., 7; Geo H., 5; Nancy, 1. All born in Ky.
Oddly, Sanford has not aged a bit in the decade! I wish I could pull that off. (The numbers are very clear; they are not 3’s.)
