Velma is a daughter of one of Georgetta’s brothers, but I have no proof of which one. The most likely possibility seems to be James Lott Pettit and his first wife Lou Mefford, mainly because in the 1910 census Lott was in Tennessee with his second wife Ada Moxey, while his known children from the 1900 census were distributed in other households. So if he and Lou had any other children born after 1900, they may well have been raised by his siblings as well.
