“Christian Cemetery” must be an older name for what is now called Dawson Cemetery. His gravestone is a double one with Minnie which has his dates as 26 Sep 1878 to 2 June 1938, and hers as 22 July 1881 to 4 Jan 1963.

Dawson, age 21, born in Greenup Co., Ky, mother born in Rowan Co., and Minnie Fultz, age 18, residence Elliottsville, born in and both parents born in Rowan Co., to be at the residence of the bride’s father (on license), at Samuel Fultz’s by Elder Samuel D. Nickell (on return), witnesses Willie L. Fultz and Lillie Sparks, bond surety by Willie Fultz.

Martha Caudill is really Will’s mother, not Minnie’s. She remarried to Ben Caudill after her first husband Jesse Dawson died. Apparently the census taker assumed that the differing surnames implied she was a mother-in-law.
