Although the older children are listed as born in Floyd Co., Ky, and the later ones in Morgan Co., Ky, this does not represent a move. Morgan County was established in 1823 from parts of Bath and Floyd counties.

Five of Edward and Sarah’s eight children married five of the children of John Williams and Phoebe Ferguson, and the other three married Browns.

I have no Hill or Williams ancestry; their families are in my database because several of their descendents married McClain’s, and I wanted to show how they were related to each other.

1850 census of Morgan Co., Ky, enumerated 30 Aug, lists on p. 79 as family #507:
Edward Hill, 56, farmer, b. Va; Sarah, 55, b. Va; Elliott, 3, b. Ky; Elizabeth, 14, b. Ky.

Their son William is two households above at #505, and their son Spencer is on the previous page at #501.

1860 census of Morgan Co., Ky, West Liberty precinct, enumerated 13 July, lists on p. 61 as family #372/369:
Edward Hill, 66, farmer; Sarrah, 64. Both born in Virginia.
