Eldridge, age 43 years 7 months 9 days, born 27 Dec 1870 in Ky, died 5 Aug 1914 in Leatherwood precinct, Greenup Co., Ky, farmer, married, father Henry Eldridge, mother’s maiden name Nancy J. Caudle, both born in Ky, cause of death typhoid fever, informant E. T. Eldridge, Brushart (sp?), burial in Zion Hill.

Her gravestone in Caudill Cemetery says Frances Eldridge, wife of James, May 1, 1872 - Mar 30, 1908.

This family is in my database primarily to document that the James Eldridge who appears in the 1910 census in Rowan Co. is not the same person as the James Eldridge with a wife Liza in Bath Co. in 1900.

1900 census of Wolfe Co., Ky, Stillwater precinct, enumerated 4 June, lists on p. 1B as family #19/20:
Eldridge, James A., 29, b. Dec 1870, Eliza F., wife, 28, b. May 1872, married 8 years, mother of 4 children, 4 living; Charles P., son, 7, b. Oct 1892; Nannie B., dau, 5, b. July 1894; Rosa L., dau, 3, b. Jan 1897; Lillie O., dau, 1, b. May 1899.

The preceding family is James’ brother Electious T. Eldridge, and the one before that is his parents.

1910 census of Rowan Co., Ky, Brushy precinct, enumerated 23 April, lists on p. 5B as family #85:
Eldridge, James, 39, widowed, farmer; Charles P., 17, son; Nannie, dau, 15; Rose, dau, 13; Lily, dau, 10; Allie, son, 2. All born Ky Ky Ky.
