The U.S. Census Mortality Schedule for 1870, West Liberty precinct, Morgan Co., Ky, records Susan Baley, age 58, widow, born Virginia, died in May, cause of death consumption. The cross reference to the family links back to #52, which is the family of Ambrose Cottle and Berthena Bailey, with whom Susan was living in 1860 as well.

This family is principally in my database because their grandson Jackson B. Ferguson (son of Telitha) married my 1C3R Susan C. Easterling, and their granddaughter Susan C. Ferguson (dau of Telitha) married my 1C5R James McClain. But they may turn out to be related to me on the Clark side as well, which was very intermarried with the Bailey family in the Tazewell and Logan Co. area of Virginia.

1850 census of Morgan Co., Ky, enumerated 8 Aug, lists on p. 31 as family #186:
Susan Baley, 36, b. Va; Manerva, 19; Miles, 17; Telitha, 15; Berthena, 12; Precilla, 10. All children born in Kentucky.

1860 census of Morgan Co., Ky, district 1, West Liberty P.O., enumerated 23 , lists on p. 88 as family #548/542:
Susanah Bailey, 46, farmer, b. Va; Persiler, 20; Uriah Cottle, 20; Ambrose Cottle, 23; Berthena, 22; Alexander, 1. All except Susanah born in Kentucky.

Ambrose Cottle is Berthena’s husband. Uriah is his brother.
