Her obituary in the Logan (West Virginia) Banner read:
“Jerry Ann Bailey, 71, of Davin, passed away Friday, July 1, 2005, at her residence.
Born July 10, 1933, at Barrett Fork in Kanawha County, she was a daughter of the late French and Annie Thompson Epperhart. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Rudy Epperhart, and two sisters, Lorraine Cooke and Edith Skladowski.
Mrs. Bailey was a retired teacher’s aide, formerly employed with the Logan County Board of Education at Buffalo Grade School at Accoville, and a member of the Mallory Baptist Church.
Survivors include her loving husband of 54 years, Darrell Bailey; one daughter, Vicky Dean of Davin; one son, Darrell Lee (Teresa) Bailey of Tampa, Fla.; one sister, Shirley Chapman of Lansdale, Pa.; one brother, Earl (Ardith) Epperhart of Stollings, and four grandchildren, Matthew Dean of Davin, Ashley Dean Lilly of Gilbert, Lathisha Midget of Carlton, Va., and Darrell Lee Bailey II of Carlton.
The family is especially grateful to Dignity Hospice of Chapmanville and their special hospice workers, Rita Vance, Margie Clark, Sue White and Stephanie McMiller.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1 p.m. today, July 3, at Highland Memory Gardens at Godby with Brother Robert Perry and Brother Frank Secreto officiating.
Her family will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Dignity Hospice, P.O. Box 4304, Chapmanville WV 25508.”
