On page 2 the birthplace is recorded as Grassy, his father’s name as Jackson Cock, and his mother’s maiden name as Elender Jennings. On page 9 the birthplace is recorded as Grassy Creek, his father’s name as Joshua Cock, and his mother’s maiden name as E. Jennings. Both entries also record the source of the report as Dr. John S. Dennis.
His death certificate records Eli Cox, age 68, born 29 Oct 1856 in Ky, died 12 May 1924 in Ezel, Morgan Co., Ky, farmer, married, father Jack Cox, mother’s maiden name Ellen Jennings, both born in Virginia, cause of death tuberculosis, informant Lillie May Cox, Ezel, Ky, burial in Cox Cemetery.
