Notes for Daniel W. Ferguson
Many online family trees record his name as Daniel William Ferguson, but I know of no primary source for the middle name. Since he had a brother named William Miles Ferguson, I think it somewhat more likely that his middle name was different, perhaps Williams after his mother’s maiden name, or Webster since that is a common middle name for Daniel.

1850 census of Morgan Co., Ky, enumerated 31 Aug, lists on p. 82 as family #530:
Elizabeth Ferguson, 32; Henry, 12; William, 6; Miles, 2; Martha J. Ferguson, 15; Henry, 12. All born in Kentucky.
The first three children are Elizabeth’s. The last two are children of Ambrose Ferguson and Mary “Polly” Williams. (Both Ambrose and Polly were first cousins of Elizabeth’s husband Daniel W. Ferguson.)
