She appears in the 1920 census as Linda F. Pelfrey, age 37, sister, single, with the family of Henry C. Pelfrey and his second wife Lodesca Lewis, but I have not found her in 1900 or 1910 (not even accounting for possible name changes, that is, there were no single Pelfrey women born 1881-1885 who were not identified as someone else’s daughter.) It may be that she was married but divorced, and then went back to her maiden name and reported her marital status as single instead of divorced. Or it might be that the surname and relationship were entered incorrectly. Sarah (McClain) Pelfrey seems rather old to be having a child born in 1883.
