Her death certificate records Mary Ann Day, age 90 years 10 months 7 days, born 23 Dec 1842 in Kentucky, died 16 Nov 1933 in Payton, Stacy precinct, Morgan Co., Ky, widow of William S. Day, father Jack Kyer, mother’s maiden name Polly Dyer, both born in Ky, cause of death “infirmities due to old age cancer and probably paralysis”, informant Jim Tom Wells, Payton, Ky, burial in Caney burial ground.

There is also a duplicate certificate filed later, on 10 Jan 1934, that gives the same dates of birth and death, with the age at death as 91 years 10 months 24 days (for those dates it should actually be 90 years 10 months 24 days), but spells her parents’ surname as Dyer, gives the cause of death as influenza, and the informant as Mrs. Maggie Wells, Stacy Fork, Ky.
