The will of Mordecai Pearce, though, as well as the Brown Family 1911 Reunion Notes, both give his middle name as Sandford, not Sempna.
His death certificate records Dr. Henry S. Pierce, age 53 years 6 months 11 days, born 9 April 1858 in Rowan Co., Ky, died 20 Oct 1911 in Salt Lick, Bath Co., Ky, married, occupation doctor, father Wm P. Pierce, mother’s maiden name Emily E. Brown, both born in Rowan Co., Ky, cause of death chronic Bright’s disease and diabetes mellitis, informant J. W. Pierce, Salt Lick, Ky, burial in Barnes cemetery.
