Hanks, John W., 36, lumber man, b. Ky Ky Ky; Mary E, 35, wife, b. Ind Penn Ohio; Laura E., 13, dau; Jessie, 11, son; Cora, 9, dau; John A., 4, son; Daisy, 1, dau. All children born Ind Ky Ind.
Listed after them, with no household or family number, are James Barret, 55, head of household, with wife Bridget, 60, and McMahan Keef, 65, listed as visiting. The census takers are supposed to enter a new family number (with the same dwelling number) whenever there is a new head of household, so it is unclear whether the Barret couple and their visitor were in the same house with the Hanks family or not.
