“Belie Stiddom Charles, age 82, of Helton Road in Salt Lick, passed away Thursday, October 9, 2003 at Hilltop Lodge Nursing Home in Owingsville, after an extended illness. Mrs. Charles was born June 1, 1921, in Bath County, the daughter of the late Albert and Hannah Middleton Stiddom. She was a homemaker and attended the Church of God.
Survivors include her widower, Rupert Charles; two daughters: Dorothy Proffitt, of Salt Lick, and Deloria Jones, of Mt. Sterling; six sons: Charlie D. Charles of Salt Lick, Bill Charles of Owingsville, Rupert D. Charles of Hindman, Ralph Charles of Flemingsburg; and Tony Charles of Owingsville; two sisters: Mary Ginter, of Owingsville, and Venia Spencer of South Lebanon, Ohio; 24 grandchildren, and 32 great-grandchildren.... Burial was in New Alfrey Cemetery.”
