Her middle initial was recorded as R. in the 1860 census, C. on her marriage record, and as A. on the 1880, 1900 and 1910 censuses.

In 1850 she was listed as Annes, age 8. In 1860 she ws listed as Annis age 18 with her parents, and she is probably also the Armelia R. Cox age 19 listed with her brother Jordon Ross Cox and his wife Martha.

Elliott Co. marriage report for 1878 lists the marriage on 24 Feb 1878 of Frederick M. Mauk, age 51, born Lawrence Co., Ky, parents born in Germany, second marriage, to Amanda C. Cox, age 36, first marriage, born in and both parents born in Floyd Co., Virginia.

The number of children living for Armelia would seem to be incorrect, since both Frederick Jr. and Lucy are hers. (Frederick’s son John F. Mauk from his first marriage is the census enumerator for this precinct.)
