Elliott County was not formed until the summer of 1869. The Odom Cox family lived during the 1860’s in the part of Carter Co. that later became part of Elliott Co.

Her death certificate records Nancy Jane Cox, age 68 years 8 months 27 days, born 29 Dec 1867 in Kentucky, died 25 Sep 1935 in Moccasin precinct, Elliott Co., Ky, widow of Willis R. Cox, father John N. Lawson, mother’s maiden name Mary Sparks, both born in Kentucky, informant Milford Cox, Access, Ky, burial in home cemetery. The cause of death field is very hard to read, it looks to me something like: “Pihthesis { cannot say how long } lymphigitis Am of informing of leg hereditary”

Dec 1891; Curtis, son, 7, b. Dec 1893; Ruthy, dau, 4, b. Oct 1896; Addie, dau, 2, b. Jan 1898; Virgil, son, 6/12, b. Nov 1899. All children born Ky Ky Ky. Sidney, mother, 72, b. Apr 1827, Ky England Penn, widowed.
Note that the reported ages are inconsistent with the birth dates by one year for Willis, Nancy, Vesty, Curtis, and Ruthy, that is, everyone born in July through Dec. I do not know which is correct.
