Rowan Co. marriage register book A, p. 46, contains a record for a marriage on 30 Oct 1890 that I transcribed as Daniel Chistister and Tharlen Lightfoot.
Thorntie’s second marriage record gave her name as Chidister.
I have not been able to find Daniel under either name in the censuses (I did searches on Chi* and Che*).
