Her death certificate records Sarah L. Sexton, age 68 years 4 months 28 days, born 16 Feb 1874 in Ky, died 30 June 1942 in Fleming Co., Ky, widow, father W. J. Brown, mother’s maiden name Dolly Crumb, both born in Ky, cause of death old dry fibrulous T.B., informant Nick Brown, Sharky, Ky, burial in Pis. gy.

Rowan Co., Ky, marriage book 3, p. 230, records the marriage on 2 Apr 1899 of George Darnell, age 18, born in Rowan Co., both parents born in Ky, to Sarah Brown, age 25, born in and both parents born in Elliott Co., at John Darnell’s by Jas. H. Tolliver, witnesses Alf Manin and Columbus Brown, who also provided bond surety.

1900 census of Rowan Co., Ky, Brushy Fork precinct, enumerated 20 June, lists on p. 18A as family #307:
Darnell, George, 17, b. Nov 1882, farmer; Sarah, wife, 25, b. Apr 1875, married 1 year, mother of 2 children, 0 living. All born Ky Ky Ky.
