His obituary reported “LEAVITT, Raymond Aulet, age 97, of Roseburg, Oregon, passed away on Tuesday, July 27, 2004, at a local convalescent hospital. Raymond was born on May 26, 1907, in Mesquite, Nevada, to Daniel and Penelope (Burgess) Leavitt. While growing up, he went to eleven different schools in eight years because of his father's work in the timber industry. Among the schools he attended were Central, Mesquite, and Pine Valley. In the 1930's he married Verna Caudill. There were three children born to this union, Keith Leavitt; Kenneth Leavitt; and Norma Jean Leavitt Nagy. After 20 years, they divorced and Raymond married Gertrude "Gertie" Murrah in 1950. He enjoyed his family and being active as a Boy Scout Leader, L.D.S. Member, hunting, fishing, farming in his younger days, and making jewelry and rock hounding. Some of his accomplishments were to help build Hoover Dam, working and retiring from Roseburg Lumber after 15 years as a machinist. Raymond is survived by his children, Keith from Oakridge, Oregon; Kenneth from Washougal, Washington; and Norma from Auburn, California; grandchildren, Bruce; John; Brian; Tamarah; Susan; Lisa; Tom; Scott; Krista; as well as sixteen great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held on Monday, August 2, 2004, at 11 a.m. within the grounds of Roseburg Memorial Gardens. Officiating will be Raymond's grandson, Brian Leavitt. Wilson's Chapel of the Roses is in charge of arrangements.”

Her obituary in the Roseville Press-Tribune of 1 Aug 2007 reported “Verna Williams passed away in Auburn on Sunday, July 29, 2007 at the age of 95. She was a resident of Auburn for the past five years and prior to the she lived in Roseville for 55 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband Claud (Rusty) Williams and is survived by two sons; Keith (Mary Ann) Leavitt of Oakridge, Ore. and Kenneth (Jean) Leavitt of Washoujal, Wash., a daughter Norma Nagy of Auburn; Grandchildren John Leavitt of Ore., Tamara Skordahl of Ore., Susan Rungren of Calif., Tom Leavitt of Ore., Bruce Leavitt of BC., Brian Leavitt of Ore., Krista Zweers of Ore., Lisa Wermes of Calif., and Scott Nagy of Calif.

A graveside service will take place at the Roseville Cemetery on Thursday, August 2, 2007 at 10:00 a.m.”
