Stout, mother’s maiden name Mary Ann Crawford, both born in Ky, cause of death broncho pneumonia following influenza, informant Mrs. J. A. Zumwalt, Rt 2, Georgetown, Ky, burial in Mt. Gilead, Scott Co.

Zumwalt, James, 30, farmer, b. Ky Ky Ky; Sallie, 25, wife, b. Ky Va Ky; Alice, dau, 6; Francis M., son, 5; Virta, 3, dau; Emma A., 10/12, dau, b. Aug. All children born Ky Ky Ky.
1900 census of Scott Co., Ky, Oxford precinct, enumerated 30 June, lists on p. 19B as family #360/361:
Zumwalt, Sallie, 45, b. Feb 1855, widowed, mother of 5 children, 5 living, b, Ky Ky Ky; Alice, dau, 26, b. Aug 1873; Emily A., dau, 20, b. Sep 1879; Jennie, dau, 18, b. March 1882; Aleta, dau, 13, b. Sep 1886; Jesse, son, 10, b. Feb 1890. All children born Ky Va Ky.
Sallie apparently misinterpreted the number of children question to be the number living with her, because the following household is that of her son Francis, and there is no match for the daughter Virta in this household, suggesting that Sallie had a total of at least 7 children.
