I am entering Claude into my database because there were two OTHER Claude Roberts of nearly the same age in Rowan Co. who I am related to, so I want to keep track of them all to help avoid confusion. The other two are Claude Emmett Roberts born 10 Sep 1893, son of William Clark Roberts and Sarah Sorrell, and Claud Isaiah Roberts, born 30 May 1890, son of Isaiah Roberts and Sarah Ellen Hall.

His WW I draft registration card, filed 5 June 1917 in Kanawha Co., West Virginia, records Claud Arizon Roberts, age 24, home address Hilda, Ky, born 12 Sep 1892 in Hilda, Ky, occupation miner, employer Cabin Creek Could Coal Co., Wevaco, W.Va., single, supporting father.

Kanawha Co., West Virginia marriage register lists the marriage on 27 Oct 1917 in Charleston, W. Va., of Claude Roberts, age 25, born in Ky, to Mabel Montgomery, age 17, born in Virginia, both single, performed by H. J. Hill, girl’s father present.
