His obituary reported “Billy J. Petitt, 73, died Wed, Jan. 9, 2008, at Mansfield Hospital. Born Sept. 17, 1934, in Soldier, Ky., he was the son of John Cecil and Anna Reeder Petitt. He retired from the Ohio Brass Company. Mr. Petitt enjoyed working with leather, drawing and electronics. He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Dianna and Thomas Vance of Mansfield; a son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Vicki Petitt of Asheville, N.C.; numerous grandchildren; brother, John Paul Petitt; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Petitt in 2002; son, Bobby Petitt in 2006; parents; and brother, Clyde Petitt. Graveside services will be Monday, Jan. 14, at 10:30 a.m. in Mansfield Memorial Park with the Rev. Matthew Pond officiating.”
