The Kentucky Birth Index lists Atlee Trent, born 28 Aug 1924, mother’s maiden name Minnie Sloan.

His obituary in the Morehead News reported “Atlee Trent, age 83, of CCC Trail, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away at his home on Monday evening, February 11, 2008.

Mr. Trent was born August 28, 1924, in Haldeman, Kentucky, to the late John Harvey and Minnie Sloan Trent. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters, Rena Trent and Nola Stigall; and four brothers, Ersel, Henry, Corbia, and Orbie Trent.

Mr. Trent is survived by his wife of 60 years, Norma Williams Trent, and five children: Diane DeMoss of Morehead, Kentucky; Jean Thomas and husband Clay of Sacramento, California; Joyce Morgan and husband Mark of Santa Ana, California; Dan Trent and wife Annette of Auburn, Washington; and Dana Baldridge and husband Jamie of Elliottville, Kentucky. 

Also surviving are seven grandchildren: Steven Walters and wife Michele, Kimberly Goodpaster and husband Paul, Collin Thomas, Meghan Edwards and husband Leon, Jason Morgan, Molly Morgan, and Garrett Baldridge; five great grandchildren, Brandon, Brooke, Nathan Goodpaster, and Madison and Alexander Walters.

Two sisters, Recia Trent of Morehead, Kentucky, and Goldie Hitch of West Liberty, Kentucky also survive.

Mr. Trent was a self-employed builder. He loved working in timber and constructing many homes in this area. He was also interested in antique cars and NASCAR. His greatest love and enjoyment was his family, especially his grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at1 p.m. Friday, February 15, 2008, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Wade Muncy and the Rev. Tim Rhodes officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. 

Pallbearers will be Steven Walters, Collin Thomas, Brandon Goodpaster, Jason Morgan, and Paul Goodpaster. Honorary pallbearers will be Woody Adkins, Oscar Rowe, Jr., Damon Johnson, Vernon Lewis, the Thomas Family, Claude Turner, Jr., Kenneth Baker, Walter Carr, Gene McDaniel, Hobart Ramey, and Dan Turner.”
