Her death certificate records Jeanette Ginter, age 74 years 10 months 21 days, born 4 June 1865 in Kentucky, died 25 Apr 1940 in Bath Co., Ky, married, wife of Jacob Ginter, father William Hatton, mother’s maiden name Linda Thompson, both born in Kentucky, cause of death lobar pneumonia, informant Curry Ginter, Salt Lick, Ky, burial in Kendall Springs.

All census records spell her given name as Genella, Jenella, or some such variant. This whole certificate is very neatly written, but I suspect it may have been copied over from some other less legible original, and the ll’s changed to t’s in the process.

1900 census of Bath Co., Ky, Owingsville precinct, enumerated 27 June, lists on pp. 24B-25A as family #476:
Ginter, Jacob, 33, b. May 1867, farmer; Gennela, wife, 34, b. June 1865, married 16 years, mother of 3 children, 1 living; Mary, dau, 15, b. Aug 1884; Warner, John, 23, b. 1877, boarder, farm laborer. All born Ky Ky Ky.

The birthdate for Gennela is off by two years; her parents were not married until May 1866, and she was listed as 2 in the 1870 census and 12 in the 1880 census.
