In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Elam and three sisters, Dorothy Elam, Esther Gilliam and Frances Munson.
He is survived by his wife, Renella Oney Elam, West Liberty, KY; one son, Donnie & Lora Elam, West Liberty, KY; two daughters, Gail & Dale Dewitt, West Liberty, KY; Vickie Stevens, West Liberty, KY; five grandchildren, Angie Gibbs, Sara & Tim Mays, Brandon Elam, Heather Whisman, Kyle Stevens; and one sister, Ruth Elam, West Liberty, KY.”
