His WW I draft registration card, filed 30 March 1918, records Virgil Kegley, age blank, residence Olive Hill, Ky, born 14 March 1896, in Crackers Neck, Ky, occupation soldier in U.S.A., employer 46th U.S. infantry, single, no dependents.

I have not found him in the 1900 census. In 1910 he was listed as Vergie Kegley, 14, stepson, with his mother and her second husband John Henry Tackett.

In 1920 he is listed at Camp Funston, Riley Co., Kansas, as Virgle Kegley, 23, b. Ky Ohio Ky, single, soldier, U.S. Army.

In 1930 he is listed at Fort Hayes, Columbus, Franklin Co., Ohio, as Virgil Kegley, 34, b. Ky Ky Ohio, single, soldier, U.S. Army.
