His obituary reported “Lowell R. Hall, 75, of Danville, died at 11 a.m. Tuesday (July 7, 1987) at St. Elizabeth Hospital. He retired in 1963 after 23 years of service from the Danville Police Department. He then worked for the Vermilion County Sheriff’s Department and Danville Township. He was a member of the Danville United Church of Christ. He also was a member of Anchor Masonic Lodge, American Legion Post 210, Scottish Rite Bodies, Gao Grotto, Danville Police Benevolent and Protective Association.
He enjoyed baseball. He was a St. Louis Cardinals fan and an Chicago Bears fan. He served as a youth advisor for his church and was a precinct committeman for 26 years. Born Sept 13, 1911 at Potomac, IL, a son of Landis and Elizabeth Belle Adams Hall. He married Dorothy Krauel on Jan 1, 1935 in Danville. She survives. Other survivors: two sons, Richard “Dick” Hall and James C. Hall of Evanssville, Indiana, six grandchildren, Brian Hall, Bonnie Hirst, Jeff Hall, Betsy Hoskins, Greg Hall and Jerri Tuttle; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, a half sister and a brother.”
