Jordon, age 75 years 7 months 16 days, born 2 Oct 1858 in Rowan Co., Ky, died 18 May 1934 in Brushy precinct, Rowan Co., Ky, father Daniel Humphries, born in Rowan Co., Ky, mother’s maiden name Susan Stambord, born in Nicholas Co., Ky, cause of death double lobar pneumonia, informant Chas Jordan, Morehead, Ky, burial in Purvis Cemetery.
Her gravestone has the birthdate 2 Aug 1858. So all three records agree on the day and year, but with three different months. The 1900 census says Aug 1858. I am using August in preference to the April from the birth record, because these annual reports are compiled in January of the following year by collecting reports from midwives and doctors, and often the clerk compiling the report mistranscribes the notes from the birth attendants.
