His death certificate records James Planck, age 78 years 3 months 14 days, born 14 Feb 1863 in Fleming, died 28 Apr 1941 in rural Fleming Co., Ky, single, farmer, father Jno Planck, mother’s maiden name Nancy Burke, both born in Fleming Co., cause of death died alone, found dead in bed, no physician, informant Jno Planck Jr., Colfax, Ky, burial in Fairview Cemetery.

It is probable that he was really born in 1862, since he was listed as 8 in 1870, 49 in 1910, and 58 in 1920. (I cannot find him in the 1900 census.)

However, be careful not to confuse him with James E. Plank, born 26 Mar 1862, son of Edward Thornton Plank and Mary Hull, who married Anna F. Hayden in 1893 and was still married to her in the 1900 through 1920 censuses, or with James W. Plank born June 1865, who married Amanda Curtis in 1890 and was still married to her in 1900.

In 1910 he was listed in Brushy precinct, Rowan Co., Ky, as James Plank, age 49, widowed, b. Ky Ky Ky, farm laborer boarding with the family of John Bradshaw and Mary [Jane Wright], both age 53.

In 1920 he was listed as James W. Plank, age 58, widowed, b. Ky Ky Ky, with the same couple.

Rowan Co., Ky marriage book A, p. 90, records the marriage on 27 Feb 1895 of James W. Plank and Lucy A. Ham.
