His gravestone says Perry Roe Ham, 1834 - 1914. The latter birthdate is more consistent with census records.

Perry R. Ham, 26, farmer; Eliza Jane, 21; Almira, 3/12. All born in Kentucky.
The R apparently stands for Roe.
1870 census of Rowan Co., Ky, Pine Grove precinct, enumerated 25 June, lists on p. 11 as family #70:
Ham, Monroe, 38, farmer; Eliza, 33; Elmira, 10; Amizette, 9; Mary, 6; Joseph, 3; Malvina, 7/12. All born in Kentucky.
1880 census of Carter Co., Ky, precinct 4, enumerated 15 June, lists on p. 8 as family #74:
Ham, Perry M., 46, b. Ky Va Ky; Liza J., 42, wife, b. Va Va Va; Elmira, 20, dau; Aberzette, 18, dau; Mary J., 17, dau; Joseph F., 14, son; Nancy J., 8; dau; Samuel H., 3, son; Malina, 7, daughter of brother; Chesly M., 1, son. All children born Ky Ky Ky (although that is inconisistent with the birthplace of Va reported for Eliza.)
1900 census of Rowan Co., Ky, Pine Grove precinct, enumerated 7 June, records on p. 5A as family #74:
Ham, Perry M., 67, b. Apr 1823; Eliza J., wife, 62, b. Nov 1827, married 42 years, mother of 9 children, 8 living; Chesley M., son, 21, b. May 1879; Malinda, dau, 25, b. Dec 1874.
Note that the reported ages and birth years for Perry and Eliza add up to 1890, not to 1900. It is the ages that are consistent with earlier records. But the birthdate decade digits are clearly 2’s, not 3’s.
