The death date has been erroneously entered into the birth date field. The informant is his son-in-law, the husband of Lillie Amburgey.

Her death certificate records Lydia Amburgey, age 82, born 24 Jan 1832 in Morgan Co., Ky, died 24 Mar 1914 in Rowan Co., Ky, married, father Jacob Day, mother’s maiden name Cogswell, both born in Virginia, cause of death broncho pneumonia, buried in Lee Cemetery.

Rowan Co., Ky marriage book 3, p. 127, records the marriage on 21 Nov 1898 of John W. Amburgey, age 62, residence Morehead, born in Letcher Co., father born in N.C., mother born in Va, his second marriage, to Lydia Bentley, age 66, residence Deborde, Ky, her third marriage, at J. H. Deborde’s by Geo. A. Nickell, Judge of the Rowan Co. Court, witnesses Joel H. Deborde and Sanford Deborde.

1900 census of Rowan Co., Ky, Morehead precinct, enumerated 29 June, lists on p. 23A as family #439:
Amburgy, John, 63, b. May 1837, farmer; Lyda, wife, 68, b. Apr 1832, married 2 years, mother of 5 children, 5 living; Lorena, dau, 32, b. Apr 1868; Lillie, dau, 30, b. March 1870; Lela, dau, 30, b. March 1870; Kansas, dau, 24, b. June 1876; Dollie, dau, 20, b. Apr 1880. All born Ky Ky Ky.

All of the children here are from John’s first marriage, to Nancy Christian. Lydia had at least seven children from her marriage to Moses Royse, so the question may have been misinterpreted.
