There was another Jesse Adkins in Morgan Co. just one month older, the son of John M. Adkins and Sarah Adkins, who married Mary J. Day. Many online family trees mistakenly confuse the two, possibly because only the latter’s birth is registered, and only this one’s death. But they both appear in the 1860 through 1900 censuses.
