His obituary in the Cleveland News-Herald reported “Albert C. Jones, 86, of Lorain, passed away Monday, May 5, 2008, at the Ohio Veterans Home in Sandusky following a lengthy illness. He was born Sept. 17, 1921, in Muddy Branch, Ky., and had been a resident of Lorain for many years. Albert proudly served his country in the United States Army, 2nd Armored Division in which they called ''Hell on Wheels,'' with General George Patton in the European Theatre from 1944 to 1946. He was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 20 of Lorain, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7576 of Vermilion and also a member of the International Teamsters of Cleveland. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Peggy (nee Hanners ); son, Stefhan Gregory Jones of Olmsted Falls; granddaughter, Stephanie Seaborn of Garfield Heights; and great-grandchildren Britney and Jacob Seaborn.”
