Her death certificate records Ethel Porter, age 24 years 9 months 6 days, born 4 Oct 1902 in Ky, died 10 July 1927 in Rowan Co., Ky, married, father Mose Sparkman, mother’s maiden name Bertha Richardson, both born in Ky, cause of death tuberculosis of throat caused from measles, informant Allie Porter, Vale, Ky, burial in Williams Cemetery.

1930 census of Rowan Co., Ky, Hogtown precinct, enumerated 7 April, lists on pp. 2B-3A as family #34/35:
Porter, Sam J., 74, age at first marriage 29, physician; Eliza, wife, 64, age at first marriage 19, postmaster; Allie H.., son, 30, widowed, age at first marriage 20, farmer; Rodney, grandson, 5; Wayne T., grandson, 3 2/12. All born Ky Ky Ky.

The grandson Wayne T. must be the child listed in the Kentucky birth index as Leslie C. Porter, born 19 Jan 1927 in Rowan Co., mother’s maiden name Ethel Sparkman. His mother died when he was only 6 months old, and perhaps the survivors preferred the name Wayne.
