His obituary reported “Bobby Monroe Cornett, age 75, of Coldiron Drive, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, December 17, 2009, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center, Morehead, Kentucky.
Born June 4, 1934, in Rowan County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Elza and Goldie Markwell Cornett. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Wendell Cornett.
Bobby is survived by his wife of 52 years, Barbara L. Crawford Cornett; one son, Bobby Keith Cornett of Georgetown, Ohio; one daughter, Kathy Smalley of Morehead, Kentucky; one granddaughter, Amanda Vancleave; and one great grandson, Justin Vancleave.
Other survivors include two brothers, Woody Cornett and Travis Cornett, and one sister, Martha Temple, all of Morehead, Kentucky, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Bobby retired from Sealmaster and was currently an employee of Perks. He was also a former employee of Calvert’s Garage, Larry Fannin Chevrolet, and Cisco’s Ashland. He was a member of Lakeview Community Church.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday, December 19, 2009, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. James Allen officiating. Burial will follow in Brown Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Woody Cornett, Travis Cornett, Bill Courtney, Sammy Hall, Roy Switzer, Bobby Keith Cornett, and Cleo Sloan.”
