His death certificate records Andy Skaggs, age 67 years 11 months 27 days, born 4 March 1849 in Kentucky, died 29 Feb 1917 in Paint precinct, Morgan Co., Ky, widowed, farmer, father Lewis Skaggs, mother’s maiden name Gillum, both bon in Kentucky, cause of death cancer of stomach, informant Leander Ferguson, Fyffe, Ky, burial in William Skaggs Cemetery, Fyffe, Ky, on 1 March 1917.
There is, of course, no Feb 29 in 1917. If the birthdate is correct, then 67 years 11 months would take it to 4 Feb 1917, and 27 more days would take it to 3 Mar 1917. But since he was buried on March 1, the birthdate and age at death cannot both be correct.
It is likely that he died on either 27 Feb or 28 Feb.
