Her death certificate records Tressa Downing, age 68 years 6 months 27 days, born 8 June 1852 in West Va, died 5 Jan 1921 in Urich, White Oak township, Henry Co., Missouri, widow of Hyram Downing, father Wash Gaines, mother’s maiden name Emily J. Martin, both born in West Va, cause of death tuberculosis of lungs, informant Cyrus Farnsworth, burial in Carpenter Cemetery.

(West Virginia was not formed until 1863, so presumably Trenessa and her parents were born in a part of Virginia that later because West Virginia.)

This family is no known relationship to my own Downings. I am entering them into my database because they are buried in Johnson Co., Missouri, where the children of John Patterson Downing settled.
