Notes for William Andrew Craig
His obituary in the Zanesville Times Recorder reported “William Andrew "Bill" Craig, 82, of Moxahala, formerly of Shawnee, passed away Sunday, May 28, 2006, at Genesis Hospice, Morrison House.
Born July 29, 1923, in Hemlock, he was the son of the late William Youstey and Flossie Mae Craig Gohring. He was an avid outdoorsman, who loved being in the woods, hunting, fishing and finding mushrooms. He was a cook at Truck Stop 70-37.
He is survived by his special friend, Gary (Carolyn) Markin, with whom he resided for the past 35 years; half brothers, Charles "Chub" Gohring and John Gohring, both of Blue Rock and Carl Gohring of Logan; half sisters, Sharon Proch of Texas, Betty Gohring of Blue Rock, Jean Criswell of Marion, Linda Allen of Zanesville and Connie (Pat) Depugh of Stoutsville; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Charles John Gohring; four sisters; and five brothers.”
(William’s special friend Gary Markin is probably the same Gary Markim who was listed as the husband of William’s half-sister Connie in his stepfather‘s 1971 obituary.)
