Notes for John William M. Christian
He went by John as a child (see census notes for his parents), but switched to William after he married, perhaps to avoid confusion with his neighbor John H. Christian, who was almost the same age.
There are two WW I draft registration cards which I believe are both his (reregistration was required if the registrant moved to a different county):
The first one, filed 5 June 1917, records John Christian, age 22, residence 6 E. Front St., Newport, Campbell Co., Ky, born 11 Sep 1895 in Moorehead, Ky, occupation machinist, employer National Lathe Co., 15 W. 2nd, Center, Ohio, single, no dependents.
The second, filed 5 June 1918, records William Christian, age 21, residence Haldeman, Ky, born 19 Sep 1896 in Rowan Co., Ky, self-employed, nearest relative Annie Christian, wife.
His death certificate records William M. Christian, age 56 years 7 months 26 days, born 19 Sep 1895 in Kentucky, died 15 May 1952 in Morehead, Rowan Co., Ky, usual residence Salt Lick, married, occupation laborer, father Henry Christian, mother’s maiden name Francis Cox, cause of death unknown, possible intestinal obstruction, contributory cause chronic morphine addict, informant Ann Christian, burial in family cemetery.
Notes for Rebecca Anna “Annie” Lambert
Her given name was Rebecca Anna Lambert (see, for example, the death certificates of her daughter Ruthy and son Lester), but she went by Anna or Annie nearly all her life.
The Kentucky death index lists Anna R. Lewis, age 67, died 1 Jan 1968 in Rowan Co., residence same.
She is buried next to her first husband, under a stone inscribed Anna Christian, Sep 13, 1900 - Jan 1, 1968.
I cannot find her in the 1910 census, nor any other records that give her parents.
