Rowan Co., Ky marriage book 2, p. 18, records the marriage on 24 Dec 1889 of John Wesley Boyd and Sallie Butts, daughter of Jas A. Butts (consent attached for minor daughter), bond surety by Moses Roberts.

1900 census of Rowan Co., Ky, Hogtown precinct, enumerated 8 June, lists on p. 6B as family #101/102:
Boyd, Wesley, 31, b. June 1869, farmer; Sallie, wife, 25, b. Mar 1875, married 10 years, mother of 4 children, 4 living; James W., son, 9, b. Nov 1890; Anna M., dau, 6, b. May 1894; Benjamin F., son, 4, b. Feb 1876. All born Ky Ky Ky.
Notice that there are only three children in the household, even though Sallie is listed as the mother of 4 living children. Apparently the baby, Cora, was skipped, either accidentally or perhaps because she was temporarily elsewhere. (She does not appear in this census in any other household, and if it weren’t for the 4 children bit, I would assume that her birthdate as reported in later records was incorrect.)
The preceding household is that of Wesley’s parents, William and Mary.
