His obituary reported “Roy E. Christian, age 56, of 11811 Durston, Pinckney, Michigan, died early Thursday morning at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital. He was born Feb. 16, 1921 in Morehead, Ky, the son of John and Lola Truesdale Christian. He married Ursula Rohls June 9, 1945 in Jersey City, N.J. and she survives.
Mr. Christian was employed in the construction business in the Ypsilanti-Ann Arbor area for the past 20 years. He was a member of Carpenters’ Union No. 512 of Ypsilanti, St. Joseph Catholic Church of Dexter, and a Veteran of World War II. Survivors besides his wife include: one granddaughter, Dawn Marie Christian of Pinckney; one brother, James of Dexter; two sisters, Mrs. Paul (Maxine) Rosasco of Ann Arbor, and Miss Betty Jean Christian of Ypsilanti. One son, Raymond J. preceded him in death June 21, 1975. Several nieces and nephews also survive. The Mass of Chirstian Burial will be offered 9 a.m. Saturday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery.”
