Notes for Mary A. Robbins
Some researchers have mistaken this Mary Ann Robbins with Mary Dyer who married John Robbins, presumably since they both had sons named William of nearly the same age, or with Mary L. Brown born Jan 1830 who married Joshua Robbins.
Her death certificate records Mary Ann Robins, age 99 years 10 months 21 days, born 23 Aug 1825 in Quick Sand, died 2 July 1925 in Pleasant Run precinct, Morgan Co., Ky, widowed, farm lady, name of father blank, maiden name of mother Mary Robins, both born in Kentucky, cause of death old age, informant W. G. Robins, Zag, Ky, burial in Allen Day Cemetery.
Census
1860 census of Morgan Co., Ky, lists with her parents (see their notes for details):
Mary, 29; James, 4; Scytha, 3; Lucinda, 1. All born in Kentucky.
I cannot find this family in 1870 or 1880.
After her son William married, Mary and her two youngest daughters made their home with him and his wife Serilda.
1900 census of Morgan Co:
Mary A., mother, 69, b. Aug 1830, widowed, mother of 10 children, 8 living; Sarah F., sister, 37, b. Jan 1863; Armilda S., sister, 26, b. Feb 1874. All born Ky Ky Ky.
Notes for Alfred S. & Mary A. (Family)
I do not know if Alfred Day is the father of all of Mary Robbins’ children. He is recorded as the father of Sarah and Armilda on their death certificates, but it is possible that the older children had a different father.
