His obituary reported “Elmer Lewis, 85, of Farmers, formerly of Elliott County, died Tuesday evening, March 22, 2005, at King's Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.
Born June 28, 1919, in Elliott County, he was a son of the late Issac and Julie Barker Lewis, and was the widower of Lorene Howard Lewis. He was a retired farmer and of the Church of God faith. Services were conducted at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 26, 2005, at Eldridge-Waddell-Whitt Funeral Home in Sandy Hook. Don Evans and Eugene Haney officiated with burial in Weddington Family Cemetery on Neil Howards Creek in Elliott County.”

I cannot find her in the SSDI nor the Kentucky birth index. (There was a Lorene Autha Howard born 12 Aug 1919 in Monroe Co., Ky, dau of William Arthur Howard and Lida Bridges, but she married Meredith Gibbs. There was also a Lorene Kelen Howard born 8 Mar 1918 in Harlan Co., Ky, but she married a Gross and died in Ohio.) She may be the Lorene Howard, age 8, born Ky Ky Ky, listed in the 1930 census in Morgan Co., Ky, as an adopted daughter of Albert and Nora B. Porter.
