Bellamy, age 57 years 6 months 2 days, born 8 Nov 1875 in Virginia, died 10 May 1933 West Liberty, Morgan Co., Ky, married, husband of Alma Bellamy, occupation merchant, father Robert P. Bellamy, born in Virginia, mother’s maiden name Cornelia E. Mendenhall, born in North Carolina, informant J. L. Blair, West Liberty, Ky, burial in Salyers Cemetery.
The cause of death field says “suide” (misspelled), which is crossed out and followed by “shot him self in the head with a shot gun homicidal”, contributory cause “mentally dranged”.
I don’t know how shooting oneself can be considered homicide, but that’s what it says. Maybe he was trying to shoot someone else and there was a struggle and he accidentally shot himself?
