HIs obiturary reported “Robert Fulton Hicks Claimed at Age 77 - Funeral services for Robert Fulton Hicks, 77, were conducted Saturday morning at 10 o'clock at the United Baptist Church in Sharkey.
Mr. Hicks, widely known Rowan County citizen, passed away last Thursday in Beaver, O.
He was born May 4, 1889, in Elliott County, son of the late John Wesley and Sarah [Hogge] Hicks.
In 1908 he married Cecilia Belle Caudill who preceded her husband in death on Nov. 19, 1962.
They became the parents of the following surviving four sons, and five daughters: Fred Hicks, Sharkey; Willis Hicks, LaRue, 0.; Nelson Hicks, and Mrs. Amanda Roberts, Kingman, Ind.; Milford Hicks, Indianapolis; Mrs. Opal Eldridge, Muncie, Ind.; and Mrs. Ruby Ellington, Mrs. Goldie Ellington and Mrs. Versie Kissick, all of RFD 1, Morehead.
Rev. Corbett Jekins conducted the funeral, after which the remains were removed to Caudill cemetery at Sharkey for interment.”
