My closest connection to this family is that their grandson Samuel Mitchell McKinney, son of their son Robert, married my grandfather’s first cousin, Allie Cornett daughter of Jesse Cornett and Nancy J. Petitt.

I’m also entering their daughter Mary and son George to show the first cousin relationship between Abraham McKinney and Arabella McKinney, parents of Elmer McKinney who married my fifth cousin once removed, Ardith Royse. Then once I got three children in, I figured I had better make the family group complete.

1880 census of Wyoming Co., West Virginia, Barkers Ridge district, enumerated 10 June, lists on p. 1 as family #7:
McKinney, S. P., 56, farmer, b. Va Va Va; Elizabeth, 58, wife, b. Va Va Va; Robt W., 18, son; Jas W., 16, son; Joseph F., 14, son. All sons born WVa Va Va.
