Her death certificate records Mary Razor Jenkins, age 84 years 8 months 28 days, born 28 Aug 1850 in Kentucky, died 26 May 1935 in Bath Co., Ky, widowed, father Jessie Hedges, mother’s maiden name Lucy Hawkins, both born in Kentucky, cause of death bronchial and cardiac asthma, informant Mrs. W. F. Jones, Salt Lick, Ky, burial in Jones Cemetery.

1870 census of Rowan Co., Ky, Cross Roads precinct, enumerated 30 June, lists on p. 12 as family #85:
Razor, James W., 24, farmer; Mary, 22; Annie, 2; Edmund, 22. All born in Kentucky.
(Edmund is James’ brother.)
1880 census of Rowan Co., Ky, Cross Roads precinct, enumerated 1 June, lists on pp. 5-6 as family #115/121:
Razor, James W., 30, farmer; Mary E., wife; Annie L., dau, 11; Mary J., dau, 9; Lucy G., dau, 7; (David? Robert? Samuel?) T., son, 5; Sarah, dau, 2. All born Ky Ky Ky.
The next family is that of Mary’s parents, Jesse and Lucy Hedges. The page is very faint. The name of the five year old son has been transcribed by Ancestry.com as Claud, but it doesn’t look like that to me. There is a vertical stroke on the first letter with a curve after it, such as D, S (the triangular kind) or R. The last letter has an ascender, such as l, d or t. The second letter looks like an a or o. There are approximately 5 or 6 letters total, with no obvious ascenders or descenders in the middle section, although the page is faint enough that they might not show up. (A lot of people have identified him with Wilmington T. Razor, b. 13 Dec 1874 or 1875, married Louvenia Ward, lived in New Castle, Indiana during the 20’s and 30’s, died 1 Feb 1942 in Los Angeles. The identification may well be correct. But if so, his first name was not recorded as Wilmington on this census.)
