Notes for Nancy Ellen Conley
Be careful not to confuse her with Nancy Ellen Ferguson who married John E. Ison.
Her death certificate records Nancy E. Isom, age 42 years 6 months 1 day, born 23 Sep 1886 in Morgan Co., Ky, died 24 Mar 1929 in Rowan Co., Ky, married, wife of John Isom, father Isaac Conley, mother’s maiden name Emily Fyffe, both born in Morgan Co., Ky, cause of death Pul. T.B., informant John Isom, Clearfield, Ky, burial in Bradley Cemetery.
The year of birth is probably off by one or even two; she was recorded in the 1900 census, taken in June, as age 14 born Sep 1885, and on her marriage license in November 1900 as age 16.
Notes for John M. & Nancy Ellen (Family)
Morgan Co., Ky marriage records list the marriage on 13 Nov 1900 of John Isom, age 21, and Nancy E. Conley, age 16, both residents of Morgan Co.
I mainly have this family in my database because my first cousin three times removed, Lou Ginter, married a John Ison as her second husband, but I don’t know which one. So I’m entering all the John Isons in the Morgan/Rowan/Elliott county area of that generation.
Also, their granddaughter Geneva Buckner, daughter of Lola Ison, married my 4C1R Glenvill Wallace.
